Hot weather is on it’s way this weekend.  This is a friendly reminder to NOT leave your pets unattended in your vehicle.  Sometimes we think we are just going to be able to run into a shop for a second, in and out, no problem.  Then something happens and you get stuck in a long line, or the help is slow, whatever, it can make your “quick” stop into a long one, and this could be fatal to your beloved pet.  So play it safe, leave them at home, or be able to take them in with you.  It’s just no worth the risk!!

Our niece just asked us “Why should I do a pre-buyers inspection?”  She is young and inpatient, and just wants this car.  She didn’t want to wait for us to do the inspection.  We finally got her to realize the importance of the inspection and she brought it in.  Thank-goodness, she finally listened to us.  This vehicle look really nice on the outside, I can understand why she wanted it so badly, but once we got it up in the air and could see the underside, it was a disaster.  Rust everywhere, and a really BAD patch job on the exhaust.  It was so bad, she figured it out all by herself.  She was SO happy that she listened to us and didn’t spend the 13K on this vehicle.  Please no matter how nice a car looks on the outside, always have a trained technician give the vehicle a good inspection…you won’t be sorry!

On some of the newer vehicles there is no oil dipstick.  Please, if your gauges or read outs say that you are low on oil, take your vehicle to a shop to have it checked.  We have had two new customers in the last couple of weeks add oil, when it shouldn’t have been added, overfilling their engines.  One had 6 quarts to much, but didn’t drive the car very far, as it was smoking, had it towed in and after draining the engine, and putting the right amount in, the engine was fine.  The other vehicle was not so lucky, after driving the car for a few weeks with almost double the oil, the engine has no compression, and he is now in a position that we don’t want to see anyone else in, does he junk the car, (which he just bought) or put a new engine in….So please don’t guess, bring it in so we can check it out and make sure it’s safe to add oil.
